North Yorkshire Strategic Development Zones

TibbaldsCampbellReith JV have led a multidisciplinary team, including SQW, ITP, TEP and tga to prepare long-term spatial frameworks for North Yorkshire’s Strategic Development Zones.

The team has been working jointly with North Yorkshire County Council and local authorities within the area, including Craven District Council, Harrogate Borough Council, Hambleton District Council and East Riding to identify scenarios for positive growth, sustainable living and working, economic drivers and opportunities, transport implications of future growth. The purpose of our work is to shape and coordinate future growth strategies through collaboration.

The project looks forward to 2050 and provides the opportunity to establish strategic objectives and a high-level spatial strategy that will enable future decisions to lead towards a sustainable, zero-carbon future.

To shape the ambitious and long-term vision we brought together stakeholder, academics, Public Health England and other experts to define the principles of positive growth and map out future scenarios.

The final reports will help coordinate the preparation of future Local Plans, promote cross boundary collaboration and help lobby for infrastructure funding.
