Tybalds Estate, Camden

The Tibbalds Multidisciplinary secured planning permission for 93 new mixed tenure homes, landscape and public realm improvements and an enlargement of existing community facilities at the Tybalds Estate in Holborn in the London Borough of Camden.  The proposals include new build housing, extensions and additions to existing post-war Council blocks and new CHP facilities for the 360 homes on the current estate.

Work on the project has been led by key Multidisciplinary team members Tibbalds, KSA, CampbellReith and CgMs.  Other team members include Avanti Architects, Duggan Morris Architects, Mae Architects, Camlins Landscape Architects and TGA M&E Engineers.  The team was procured through the HCA Panel.

Following extensive consultation with local residents and stakeholders the proposals were minded to grant planning permission by London Borough of Camden planning committee in June 2013.  The subsequent stages of the Tibbalds team’s work involved supporting the client through the tender process in order to appoint a contractor and a continuing role during construction to ensure ensuring that high quality design is achieved.
