The Tibbalds CampbellReith JV team is currently working on behalf of Homes England to deliver residential development at the former Electrolux site in Spennymoor, County Durham. The site benefited from outline planning consent for up to 425 dwellings and commercial uses including associated access and landscaping works, however a flexible approach to the project is required to maintain the application and avoid substantial CIL charges being applied.
The project is being led by CampbellReith with support from TEP on masterplanning, Aspinall Verdi on viability, TGA on utilities, MD2 on planning and JDDK on architecture. Our work also involves review of phasing, viability testing and assessment of adjacent parcels of land in order to deliver further residential development and to add value to the consented scheme.
An important milestone on the project was reached in October 2018 with the reserved matters application being submitted and work is now focussing on the delivery of the remediation, utilities and infrastructure
